Planned to make a Parker House roll for dinner, first rise should have been 90 minutes but at that mark dough barely showed any movement and still felt really dense to touch. Have boiled some water in my microwave and put the dough bowl in there to sit hoping a "proof box" effect might wake it up - but 20 mins into this method and dough again has shown liitle movement. Recipe called for rapid rise yeast and include a cup of milk and an egg so the dough started out pretty cool.
If I start over now, I just might have enough time to try a new batch in time for dinner. Or do I ride it out another hour and see if this dough comes to life?
