Stopped by an interesting place on La Cienega (just before the 10 on-ramp) today on my way to Taco Punta Cabra.
I happened to stop in traffic right outside Thrift town liquor when I noticed a banner advertising Dominican food in the store, curious I swung around the block to check it out.
Basically the restaurant/cooking area occupies the front section of the liquor store, it was late in the afternoon and they were running out of items. I ordered the rice and beans, beef and pork stew, plantains and a side of salsa.
First time eating Dominican food, very tasty! The stews were hearty and well seasoned, rice was flavorful. Washed it down with India Malta from the liquor store. Nice unexpected find.
