My wife and I just had a wonderful dinner at Vedge. I know this restaraunt has been covered before, but just wanted to say what a fantastic meal we had.
We started with the For the Table sampler; Our three selections were Housemade Pickles, Green Olives, and Pickled Red and Green tomatoes. All three were excellent, although my personl favorite were the tomatoes, especially the red ones.
We had 4 dishes from the Plates menu:
Cauliflower saffron soup- Very nice dish, might have benefitted from a touch of sea salt, but was still quite good.
Salt Roasted Golden Beets- Fantastic dish, my wife said that it has replaced the beets she had at Craft as her favorite beet dish ever.
Summer Corn Salad- really great combination, especially loved the charred onion pieces.
Shawarma style carrots- My favorite dish of the night. The lentils that accompanied the dish are the best I have ever had, I could easily sit down with a bowl of them and be completely happy.
We also had 3 dishes from the Dirt list:
Chiogga beet pastrami- interesting dish that really did taste like pastrami. My wife and I agreed that we both thought it was interesting, but we probably wouldn't order it again.
Brussel sprouts- fantastic dish, my wife actually slapped the wall next to her when she first tasted it, it was that good.
Fingerling Fries with creamy worcestershire- Another wonderful dish. I could eat these every day and be extremely happy.
We both loved the service and atmosphere, as well as the food. Would gladly eat there again. Just as a note, I am a confirmed carnivore, not a vegetarian or vegan, but this food would satisfy anyone.
