dinner near Mann's Chinese for a picky group: help!

Hi Everyone,

I am hoping the Chowhounds can help me out and
suggest some good places to have dinner near (within
walking distance of) Mann's Chinese theatre tonight.
This might be a difficult task due to the fact that
we constitute a picky group of eaters: my boyfriend
and I, his father and two teenagers (my boyfriend's
nephew and niece), visiting from Europe. So far, I have
determined granddad does not like "posh" eateries, does
not like to wait and does not want to spend much money.
The kids seem not very adventurous when it comes to
food (they like mostly pizza, hamburgers and specific
Chinese dishes, nothing spicy). I'm fine with almost
anything, but do not particularly like Chinese food.
Soooo, I was hoping to find something with some main
dishes under $15, which has a bit of a Hollywood vibe,
but not too much, and a large, varied, menu.
I have tried out many restaurants in the area
already, mostly just once. Didn't much like Vert, but
that could have been because I chose the wrong thing to
order: the ravioli had a sweet tomato sauce, which I
did not like. But it may be a bit too fancy. The Pig
and Whistle is another option, although I consider it
somewhat overpriced. The deli close by is OK, but when
we went there last time everyone there seemed to be
over 50... We might end up at Johnny Rockets, since the
kids liked it before, but I would prefer to try out
something new. I realize it may be impossible to
please everyone, so I'm hoping for some suggestions
that nobody in our group will really dislike, and most
of us will be fairly happy with.
