Dinner around Cutler Majestic Theatre?

jacinthe | Jan 24, 2004 10:18 PM

My friend and I are going to a flamenco performance at the Cutler Majestic Theatre (219 Tremont) this Friday, and were looking for somewhere to eat beforehand.

Seriously, any kind of food is okay. We're both adventurous eaters. Favourites (for me, at least) in Boston/Cambridge include East Coast Grill, Taranta and Salts. I was less impressed with Icarus (although I went during their anniversary special (was that it?) last summer and perhaps their regular menu is different) and Cuchi-Cuchi. Price range - moderate? Around the price range of Taranta or East Coast Grill would be ideal.

The twist (if you can call it that) is that we're driving up from Providence, and will need somewhere to park the car. Thusly, a restaurant that's within walking distance (around 1/4 of a mile) of the theatre would be preferable, unless they have free valet (does that even exist in Boston? And, if there is any advice about parking in that area - when I'm visiting friends, I either park sans permit in Cambridge, or if I'm there just for the day on the weekend, at the South Station lot.)

I've been looking on the board, and Teatro looks good - although they don't take reservations for groups of two? Will we have a problem finding a seat at around 6, 6:30? Further opinions on Pigalle, Troquet, Blu? Or are there any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
