One dinner and two breakfasts or lunches in San Diego

Hi-

LA hound and Cal grad here, driving down to San Diego to see Cal play in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 28th. My husband and I will be arriving sometime during the afternoon on the 27th depending on his work schedule that day, and we'll be driving back to L.A. at our leisure on the 29th. Looking for recommendations for dinner on the 27th and breakfasts or lunches for the 28th and 29th. On the 29th we could conceivably eat in La Jolla or somewhere else on the way back to L.A.

We're staying at the W and obviously we'll have a car, but it might be fun to have a meal within walking distance of our hotel if possible. Upscale Mexican or seafood might be nice for dinner. We are open to other cuisines, but not looking for sushi as we eat plenty of that in L.A., not looking for a steakhouse, and my husband doesn't like Thai food. Price is no object.

I scanned the board briefly and my interest was piqued by Chilango's. Can someone please describe it? On our last trip to the area a couple of years ago we ate at an upscale Mexican restaurant with a garden and loads of tequila bottles on display, but I cannot recall the name of the restaurant.

Thanks for the help.
