Dining Solo in Paris

I'll be in Paris in September and have been finding fabulous ideas in postings on the International Board on where to go for great chow. But . . . I'll be traveling alone and I've found that many restaurants are not very enjoyable for the solo diner. Does anyone have recommendations for top-level restaurants that are particularly hospitable to someone dining alone? (I may go ahead and have dinner at Taillevent or Arpege or Lucas Carton anyway, just because they've gotten rave reviews from chowhounds on this board!)
