Dine Around Town at Maya (lunch)

Great lunch today at maya - for the Dine Around Town offer, you get to pick an appetizer and entree from the regular menu (only a few items unavailable for this deal). Also comes with 1 beverage (I got an avergae ice tea) and a standard dessert - good trio of sorbets (I really enjoyed the coconut flavor).

The ceviche appetizer got major thumbs up from everyone. Nice tomatoey flavor, sharp acid and good mahi mahi.

The spinach salad was also quite nice - good crisp greens with plenty of bacon bits. Mild and sweet dressing shows off the shiitake mushrooms very well.

Another good deal -- the avocado gazpacho - perfectly chilled, not overly rich and cloying, and topped with a generous amount of fairly good crabmeat. Drain the soup to find a crispy tortilla-type cracker.

I ordered the grilled pork loin mainly for the vanilla corn - great sweet nibbles! pork was passable but very exciting - could have been more tender.

The smoky cayote relleno was excellent -- great flavor. I loved the bite of it that I got.

The ahi quesadilla was also good and the my pal liked the crunchy jicama that came with it.

The mole sauce on the chicken was excellent and was also a favorite.

On the whole, a real bargain for the price.
