Hey, I noticed no one wrote up our outing on Sunday. For me, the good stuff was: xiao long bao (sans crab), chicken soup, pork chow mein, and nian gao (Shanghai rice something). I thought the shiu mai, pork buns, and sauteed pea sprouts were all lacking in flavor. (Ice Cream Machine--I searched in vain for sliced dough noodle. You're tweakin', dude.)

A few of us headed to Shenyang afterwards for jing dong rou bing (sorry, can't ever remember what it is in English) and ba si (caramelized) sweet potato, both pretty good. The waitress convinced me to order some kind of breaded, fried glutinous rice cake w/red bean glob that was eleven kinds of awful.
