Dim Sum and more in Hayward

I know the dim sum competition is over, but I recently had some at an out of the way place in Hayward - New Hong Kong. I'm not good with the translation of the dishes' names so bear with me.

The usual fair of dim sum was good and steaming hot. My family and I got some sui mai (yummy), shrimp goh (good size of shrimp inside), chicken feet, and pig intestines & turnips (delicious).

We tried some speciality dishes, which I always look for since the people who cook them are usually the cooks not the dim sum chefs. Its a good way to tell how the their regular menu fairs. We had the black bean clams with red and green bell peppers. That was excellent! We also had some veggies wrapped in bean curd and then pan fried. This was very tasty too! Last of the speciality dishes, we had a bowl of the sticky rice which was at the right consistency. I've had mushy and bland tasting ones before and this wasn't it. This one was flavorful and the right amount of chewy.

We did order something from the menu, lobster with noodles. I think it was yee mein, but I'm not sure. No matter what the noodle was, it was the best part of the meal! I know it's not part of the dim sum fair, but this dish was so tasty. When the lobster is cooked with the noodles, the noodles absorb so much of that good lobster flavor. Unfortunately, you can't eat too much of it since it's quite filling.

We had two of their desserts the mango jello and a sweet ground black sesame soup. Both were a great ending to our meal.

This place is worth trying and coming back to. My family and I will be going back since we received a coupon for a free crab, from a promo deal they're currently running.
