Shocking, I know, but tonight I had a disappointment at Difara's. He can't get the baby artichokes he likes to use (which he usually sautees to order before putting them on a pie) - but he told me he found some other artichokes to use instead - so I ordered a pie with part artichokes - and they were canned artichoke hearts. I kid you not. Oy.
Everything else was great. Porcinis, garlic, broccoli di rape... Maggie made a stew of short ribs, escarole, and chick peas. Delicous. They also had tripe tonight, but we were too full of pizza and stew to get it.
We ate chunks of mozzarella di bufala drizzled with olive oil, and some chunks of grana padana. Damn, he gets some good cheeses.
