Went to Diaspora this weekend, which has been discussed a bit here.
It was a mixed bag. The food was mostly good but not amazing. I had some cod that wasn't overcooked but was oddly tough. The grilled whole red snapper was great, though, and the huge shrimp were very sweet. Fried fish cakes didn't taste much like fish, and the greek salad had tomatoes that were more like February tomatoes, not August ones.
The strangest thing about the place was the service. Our waiter looked to be about 15 years old, and it was surely his first day waiting tables (or at least I hope so!). He was so nervous, spacy and bizarre that I started to wonder if someone was playing a trick on us and we were on some Candid Camera sort of show! Maybe his father owns the place and was forcing him to wait tables. In any case, it was too comical to get pissed off about.
