Yesterday seven of us had lunch at a brand new place in Sugar Land called Pico de Gallo. It's a family-run place in the shopping center at Highway 6 and Williams Trace (at the opposite end from Colletti's--it used to be Baja's and before that it was a Chinese place. I hope this one lasts). They just opened last Thursday and I was concerned they might not have all the kinks worked out yet.
Well, sure enough, it took a very long time for our entrees to come (they kept us well-supplied with chips and good medium-hot salsa), but when they did they were excellent. I had the best chicken mole enchiladas I've ever had in a restaurant, and my husband enjoyed his chicken poblano. Everyone else liked their enchiladas and fajitas.
The manager apologized profusely for the wait (he said he was short-handed in the kitchen, which seems odd since they just opened) and took 15% off the bill.
If you Loopies aren't afraid to venture to the distant prairies of Sugar Land (here there be dragons), check this place out. It may become my new favorite casual Mexican place.
