Following on the heels of the reports that Little Delhi was alive again, I stopped there for lunch last week.

The new formica and vinyl location can seat nearly 150 and offers table service. Instead of disposable plates, now there's colorful dinnerware. With a bigger kitchen, an expanded menu is now possible and tandoori meats have been added, as well as many more selections.
I started with the crab pakora appetizer. Before ordering it, I'd asked my waiter if it was made with real crab or imitation. He said it was real crab. However, when the pile of battered surimi sticks was served and I had bitten into one to confirm the material, I motioned him over to point out his mistake. He apologized and took it off my bill.
I picked rogan josh, which had been my favorite lamb dish at the old place. Ordered "medium", the spicing level was the same as before butting up against my pain threshold with more flames than most others' "hot". The sauce was wonderfully complex. However, the pieces of lamb were on the dry side and hadn't picked up the flavors of the sauce. Hopefully this was a one-off.
The bright spot of this lunch was the naan. It was every bit as good as I remembered with a crispy bottom and a puffy, tenderly chewy texture. The chef's moved in the same tandoor that he had before and he knows how to use it.
