Wife and I had a delightful meal at Dedo last night (Church Street at Stuart). We arrived around 8 and expected a wait but were seated almost immediately. The small low-key room, service and ambiance were relaxed and comfortable. The food was terrific. We had duck liver pate, a mesclun salad with gorgonzola and grapes, a truffled risotto with turkish morels, fava beans and parmiaggiano-reggiano,and lamb tenderloin with baby artichoke gratin and bitter greens (like arugula but a bit milder). The duck liver pate with poached figs was a large serving of excellent pate well complemented by the sweetness of the figs. The salad was well prepared. The lamb was remarkably tender and interacted well with the slight bitterness of the greens and mellowness of the artichoke. The highlight was the risotto, perfectly prepared and tasting of spring (morels and fava beans!). Servings were moderate in size and very high quality and prices were very fair ($51 with 1 glass of wine before tip). I believe this is excellent value and I'm glad that there are restaurants around that buck the trend of enormous portions of mediocre food.
