I'm a DC/MD hound who is heading up to Hamburg, PA in a few weeks with the family to celebrate my father's birthday. His big wish is to take in the Cabela's store that's there.
I'd like to do a nice, low-key birthday dinner for him, and considering the geography, I figured I'd see what there was in the German, Amish or Mennonite mold - good, down-home cooking (especially baking). Something in the mold of The Casselman Inn in Grantsville, MD (along I-70).
Price isn't really an issue, obviously, quality is. The dining group will range in age from toddler to grandparents.
And while we're going to Hamburg, we're staying closer to Reading - so really any recommendations in that vicinity will be helpful.
