I used to live in DC from 1996-2000. I'll visit for 4 days, 12/1 thru 12/4. I'm staying in the Foggy Bottom/Dupont Circle area. I have no car, will be alone, and want to eat at some great dinner places, say $20-$35 total without alcohol (I don't drink - just tap water). They can't have a dress code -- jeans need to be fine. They must have meat -- I'm a die-hard carnivore. And they don't need to be in the Foggy Bottom/Dupont area -- I love to walk long distances (which is what I'll probably be doing for much of those 4 days) and would definitely be willing to take the Metro for a great meal. If I'm on foot, I'd go anywhere from the Capitol area to Chinatown (might revisit Tony Cheng's for kicks) to Georgetown.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
[Also looking for great dessert places having anything chocolate. I used to frequent Heidelberg Bakery in VA but won't be able to get there this time due to lack of car.]
