Hi DC hounds: Staying at Mandarin Hotel,1330 Maryland Ave, late Feb. I've been reading the DC boards and see there is a long list of possibilities. Anything around Hotel and within reach by Metro is always preferred. We don't mind walking a ways either. I'd like one very nice restaurant, few good places for apps and drinks after 5, few lunch ideas. Anything around area not to miss? We usually hit an Irish Pub. We love seafood, seafood platters. Maybe splurge on one expensive place; otherwise appreciate reasonable prices. Prefer American fare and stay away from anything spicey. Also open to French, Eastern European, especially if it's above average food. Am aware of Cityzen in the Mandarin, not sure if that would be for us. We loved Bar Modern in NY and lobster rolls at Pearl Oyster Bar, if that helps. Many thanks in advance. I'll report back after March 1.
