In a post below I noted Fortessa the Chantilly wholesaler and their monthly sales. I also mentioned another source with similar bargains of high end porcelain such as Herend. The wholesaler's name is Present Tense and their address in Sterling is 21440 Pacific Blvd. which is off of Route 28 about one mile past where ground has been broken for the new Wegman's. Their phone number is 703-450-1601. The date of their annual sale is November 9th. This is a once a year sale that will last for two days. When they open the line will already be AT LEAST 100 PEOPLE LONG!
They are the North American wholesaler for Herend porcelain from Hungary which along with Meissen and several others is considered among the finest in the world. Last year for the first time they sold several patterns as part of this sale at approximately 60 to 80% off. They also are the North American wholesales for a number of lines of hand painted Italian ceramics everything from plates, to urns, to pitchers, soup tureens, etc. Some of this is really exquisite.
There will be a lot of it.
For those who are into this type of shopping and appreciate this type of cook and serving ware this sale is as good as it gets in America. As the importer and wholesaler they sell to Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Kitchen's Etc.
