DAT at C&L

The good news is the DAT does represent a significant discount off their regular menu. All the entrees (listed as steaks) are priced at $34.

Unfortunately, the promotion did nothing to make me want to return. Highlight of the meal was my roasted tomato soup. Very tasty, deep smoky flavor. Too bad they let me sit for a couple minutes without a spoon. Wedge salad was tasteless.

The pork belly was tender and ample but had none of the crispiness or carmelization hoped for and no sauce or accent flavors. Served on tiny lentils that were a bit toothsome in a slightly creamy sauce that didn't complement either the bean or meat. The roast chicken was really no better than whats available at the Nob Hill deli a block away. Served bare on the plate. Side of cream spinach was tasty.

Dulce de leche creme brulee was acceptable, chocolate brownie had nice fudgy interior but hard exterior.
