Great to see a new restaurant in N. Branford that is upscale, with great food, and one that definately should be here for a while unlike all other attemts at restaurants in North Branford.
My wife and I ate there last week after seeing the parking lot full day after day. We thought they must have something going there since that kind of volume in a restaurant in this town is unheard of.
The menu is varied and should please fish, chicken, veal and fish lovers. We started with fied calimari for appetizer. I also had to try the Lobster Bisque. It was very good, velvety smooth with freshly shaved corn kernels with a smoky undertone. The calimari were lightly fried, and were tasty dipped in the marinara sauce.
For entres, we had the roasted duck in plum sauce over Yukon gold potatoes and veal Chop stuffed with crab meat and asparagus served with garlic mashed. both dishes were superb!
For desert we shared a lemon sorbet, which is served in an actual lemon previously emptied and frozen.
All through dinner, we kept commenting how this restaurant is similar in its menu and quality to another favorite of ours in Guilford called "Quattros"
Well it turns out the owner is the former co/owner and chef at Quattros, which has one state "best of" polls on numerous occasions.
I would highly recommend Daltons for great food, great service and and a warm atmoshere. I might add that they are reasonaby priced with entres in the $15 -$21 range. Appetizers in $4-$8 range.
