THE DALLES: Mi Pueblito Taco Truck

Found a good taco truck in The Dalles today. It's on Chenowith Loop which can easily be accessed from the interstate by taking either the western most exit or the next exit east on I-84. Then you just drive along the frontage road, US-30, I believe, on the south side of 84 until you reach the street. It's east of the first exit, west of the second exit. Mi Pueblito is right across the street from the Westgate grocery store. I think it's only open during the day.

Tacos are $1.25 and farely good-sized. They also have burritos, quesadillas, and I think a couple other things. They have a large list of meats including: asada, pollo, al pastor, adobada, carnitas, cabeza, lengua, and tripas. I tried the adobada, carnitas, and cabeza. All were good. The adobada was greasy and flavorful. The carnitas were ultra crispy and a little seasoned. One of the more interesting carnitas I've had. They're really rather dry, but I still liked them because they had a crispiness to them and had some flavor. The cabeza was probably the best of the three being a not overly fatty, very tender and beefy pot roast.

I may take a quick stroll through Hood River on my way home today to see if there are any taquerias or taco trucks to try.

btw, there is another taco truck I've found in The Dalles, but it's not quite as good. It's over by Safeway sort of, on the main road there.
