My very first impression of Daisy May's was not very memorable, that combined with how far west the location is (11th ave and 46th street) and how it only opens until 8 pm...I somehow didn't get back there until I had to go to the chinese consulate in April this year.

Since then it's been a semi-steady place for me. I live a few blocks from Dinosaur BBQ uptown, but somehow, I prefer Daisy May's. Even though it's so far away, and I end up either taking the stuff home, or just sitting outside at one of the two picnic tables by the noisy road. I still would rather eat there. The Jumbo Beef rib was the current favorite until tonight: The brisket sandwich!!

I asked for it with more fatty parts. It came with the buns half soaked in orange colored sauce/oil. The sesame studded bun has the perfect texture for this delicious sauce. The meat was chopped bits with nicely charred parts and very smoky. Loved that sandwich!

A block away is Sullivan st. Bakery's other location: on 47th street between 10th ave and 11th ave. Very convenient, indeed. I picked up some Aranciata from there for drinks, and then a hazelnut cake with a think middle layer of chocolate, for tomorrow, of course...because tonight I had brought my own dessert.

I followed the sandwich with a couple of self assembled strawberry shortcake (sorry, this was made by me at home, just minutes before, not from Daisy May's)... I think this was a perfect summer evening meal.
