Following the suggestion of Capn Mac, I went to Curry Leaves on 40th Road in Flushing for Malaysian food. I thought it was great and the two Singapore expats thought it was pretty decent.
Dishes we liked best: Roti Canai, Hainanese(sp?) Chicken, chicken sate (it was so well marinated I didn't even use the peanut sauce...
The Fruit Rojak--a salad of mango, squid,and other interesting items dressed with a sweet/hot fermented shrimp dressing and topped with ground peanuts--was in their estimation a little too gooey (too much dressing, not enough fruit). However, all in all, the meal was quite nice and we all were impressed with 40th Road--WHAT A PLACE!
Thanks to everyone who helped out on the Malaysian food quest. I will try Rasa Sayong next!
