Crim's BBQ - on the corner of Blanding and Shirley on the Westside. Take US17 to San Juan Ave. Drive past KC BBQ on the left and take a right on Blanding about three blocks to Shirley Ave. Crim's is directly across Blanding from Blackjack BBQ, which I haven't tried under their new ownership (basically takeout only.) More on them later, I guess. Lots of BBQ in this area, with a pretty decent Woody's close on 17. With this much cue this close, if you want to thrive, you gotta raise your game.
To keep it short, sides good, service an issue, but you must go and get this man's ribs. The other items are good (chicken, pulled and chopped pork, collards!!) but you go to Crim's for ribs. Mr. Crim keeps his "Rib Doctor" RV out front of the restaurant, and it's no lie. These were served fresh, tender, perfectly seasoned (no sauce - amazing rub) and falling off the bone good. I can hardly keep from getting in the car right now and getting at least half a slab. Just the right fat/meat ratio, with that little crunch to the outside and sweet tender juicy inside that are what good ribs are all about. Sauce?? - shoot, you don't need sauce with this - you'll just ruin a good thing. Ribs - Crim's - highly recommended. Gimme feedback - just go.
