I was looking for some comfort food downtown near the theatre district this afternoon. I recalled reading a review on another web site rating Craft Burger as the best burger in Toronto. Dine.to also nominated it best burger of 2009.
So... visited the place in the gentrified area of King St West. It's a small restaurant seating about 16 people. Furnishings are basic black, nothing fancy. When my SO and I visited, we felt strangely out of place. Nearly all the clientele were 20 somethings with significant body ink, not a demographic we fit.
On to the food... service is a bit slow. It took about 20 minutes for our organic and veggie burgers to be prepared. Quite frankly, the burgers underwhelmed. They were a bit on the dry side and did not have a lot of flavour. The bun was dry and uneventful. Although I enjoyed the burger more than South Street or BQM on Ossington, give me a Dangerous Dan's burger anytime over any of the above.
