Coyote Flaco (New Rochelle)

Tried Coyote Flaco during a visit to New Rochelle yesterday evening, having remembered a decent Mexican meal at the Port Chester original several years ago.

We were disappointed with the food, which was neither fresh nor particularly good. I had the "fiesta fajita" special, which included salmon, shrimp and red snapper. The seafood items all tasted past their prime and came in a gloppy sauce with a couple of onion pieces and two pepper slices. The tortilla on top of the pile in the covered container seemed inexplicably toasted (and was impossible to fold), while the ones below it were steamed. The other dishes (quesadillas and enchiladas suizas) were similarly pedestrian. Service was amateurish and discombobulated.

The "21" food rating in the Southern NY State Zagats is mystifying. Maybe the Port Chester branch is better.
