couldnt decide what to eat yesterday and my tummy was a bit off. Driving to the LIE, we detoured to visit Marylou and Frankie and pick up some mozzarella,
Frankie was "just making it", so I chatted with Marylou about the holidays, family and the likes for a few minutes and was rewarded by the wait with a delicious slab of warm salty sweet milky mozzarella. We took turns taking bites off the slab. Stuck the left overs in the frig and just went for a late night early morning snack. I zapped a piece for 15 sec. in the microwave to take the chill off and help recreate the fresh out of the warm water experience - not quite as good but still yummy and fresh tasting.
I cann't wait until the tomatoes and basil are local again. Caprese salad
Anyone know a source for reasonably priced haloumi cheese? It seems to have gotten very pricey lately.
