I'm looking to buy a Cast Iron Skillet, mainly for the purpose of searing fish. I've never cooked in one before, but as I understand, the pan is meant to absorb oils from the food. My concern is that its going to smell like fish, making it unusable for anything else, as well as making my apartment smell like burning fish oil every time I use it. Has anyone experienced this? If so, is there a way to avoid that?
