Confirmed - Sun Hong Kong Oakland sold to Gold Medal

My apologies if this was posted previously. I did a CH search, and only saw a quick blurb from banana2ndgen that he/she had heard, but couldn't confirm, Gold Medal was taking over Sun Hong Kong in Oakland Chinatown.

I was in Oakland Chinatown earlier today, and visited my friends who own the grocery store right next to SHK. They have long known the owners/staff at SHK, and had eaten there late the prior night. One of the owners confirmed that they were selling the business and lease to the owners of Gold Medal for an undisclosed sum (I would hazard a guess that the price would have to be a solid 7-figure number, based on the volume that SHK does 365 days a year). The transition will be effective at the end of this month.

Unfortunately, my friends were ending a night of frivolity when they were told of this news, so didn't think (or were too stunned) to ask followup questions. I don't know yet if the name/menu/format/hours will remain the same, but will try and find out ASAP (as I was leaving my friends' store, the middle-aged woman with black-framed glasses that seems to be at SHK every hour of every day walked in to chat with them). I certainly hope so, as they have a number of unparalleled dishes there I order to go at least once a month.
