Two completely different takes on Italian in Seattle

This week I dined at two different Italian restaurants in Seattle and it's amazing how the service you receive can impact your meal. We had a fabulous dinner at Assagio on Saturday night. Our server was very helpful and knowledgable about the menu and the specials. She encouraged us to try a sampler of their appetizers which was a great idea since they are all wonderful. Her timing was perfect even though the restaurant was packed.
On the other hand I dined at Troiani last night and had a terrible server. He complained about several of the items on the menu and when we asked for a wine suggestion he immediately went for the $88 bottle. I was dining with two friends and we did not appreciate this. We told him that was out of our range and to try again. He was taken aback by this and from that point on treated us as second class citizens. Let me add that we did share a $40 bottle, and the restaurant was not even half full.
The food was very good at both restaurants, but I will not return to Troiani. There are too many places to dine in this city and you shouldn't have to put up with poor service.
