I was just reading a thread, on the SF Area board, about CSAs in that area. From what I gather, these are not-for-profit farms that 'sell' shares to individuals who are then entitled to be shipped or pick up a share of the produce of the farm (sortof a co-op structure, I guess). I Googled my way to one such Southern California source, The Tierra Miguel Foundation, which appears to be a similar structure (link below), and the only one of the five I found that serves Orange County (most serve the San Diego area).
I don't recall ever seeing anything about this on the LA Board, so I'm wondering if any hounds have experience with this particular source, or any others like it. Are there more here than this one, and are they worth looking into? Am I better off just sticking to local Farmers Markets?
Since this is specific to the LA area, I'm hoping this is the correct board for the question.
