As some of the regulars on this board know, I moved to New York about 8 months ago, and have been using this board to stay updated on the dining scene back home. Haven't been back to New Orleans since Christmas, so I'm really looking forward to eating out on many occasions. We are not going to try anything new this time, I don't believe, as I can't seem to bring myself to stay away from my old favorites. Here is my plan:
Friday (lunch): Galatoire's, Peristyle, or Bayona.
Friday (dinner): Tommy's. My aunt just moved in to a condo at One River Place (by the Riverwalk and Hilton), and wanted to go to a restaurant within relative walking distance. I much prefer Irene's. Any suggestions in case her mind is willing to be swayed? We don't have a res yet.
Saturday (lunch): A crawfish boil in my friend's backyard. I'll report back if the crawfish are particularly good/cheap for those of you looking to do your own boil.
Saturday (dinner): Clancy's.
Also possible for this trip: Uglesich's, Parran's, Taj Mahal, Shogun, Martin's Wine Cellar.
I am psyched.
Eric (that's my name. I think I'm going to use it from now on.)
