Colibri Report

Made it to Colibri today, although too late for brunch which is what i really wanted to try.

the gf and i shared everything. first up was their guac, spiciness level made to order. we got it spicy. if you like it spicy ask for extra spicy because it wasnt. it was pretty good however. almost as good as mine (and of course i make the best ever).

we had the salmon tacos. i kind of expected this to be a letdown, and it was. salmon overcooked and pineapple wasnt super fresh.

mole poblano was very tasty, although im not an expert on mole. the chicken however could have been a little more tender.

finally the pozole verde. this was awesome. highly recommended. nice spicy tomatillo broth, fresh garnished, good hominy. a very yummy soup.

we also had the cazuela margarita, which was so-so.

overall its a place id like to go to again to try some other dishes, because the idea of the food is great. the idea in this case was a little better than the food itself. still it was fun and good for the belly.

tab was 50 bucks... a little more expensive than it was worth.

anyone had the brunch? recommended?
