I'll be in Manhattan for a week (from the UK) from Feb 17 with a friend who has never visited NY before - not even the US come to that... the weather forecast is cold... After a few days of intense tourism, we'll need to chill/warm somewhere for an afternoon (say 11 am - 3pm) - great NY atmosphere, fab nibbly food, comfortable seating for lounging about, great drinks (cocktails or wine), and a great changing view (ie passing/imbibing people - and a great street or skyline if possible).
We are adventurous eaters (already booked WD-50), and prefer seafood and veg over meat. Money no object (the trip is being financed by a bequest).
Where should we hang out? (we are both straight women, if that makes a difference).
