I just checked their website (below) and they don't have any listed, so I called them and they said "sure" you can mail order some green coffee. Let us know how it works out.

Barbara --- Thanks for the information and the URL. I checked it out. Our Beacon Market is a neighborhood supermarket that has survived the big chains by offering what is selling to its Brookline client base. When coffee got hot -- Beacon began selling whole roasted beans from a variety of sources. Now they have coffees from dozens of places -- most of which they sell for $3.99 per pound. There may be other good, cheap coffee places out there.
About rejuvenating the Boston board --- there are several who are communicating freely on the Boston board - it's fun.
Finding out what is out there in Boston is of interest to any local Chowhound. We have several professional sources of food info in our local newspapers and magazines -- but -- the Chowhound idea is much better -- we get to express our own experiences and we can go as deep as we want to go.
Its like throwing bread on the water -- some of it will be noticed and serve as nourishment --some will just get soggy and sink. Right now my posts are dominating the Boston board --but I hope that the future will find the sort of traffic that we see on the Manhattan board with all sorts of tastes and interests being expressed.
I love to listen to people talk about food. 99.9% of us have fully functional senses. When we start to get those senses engaged with the vast reality of Boston's restaurant culture we have the makings of some exciting experiences.
Today I went to a funeral up at our church. It was snowing but people came anyway. I spent an hour preparing an offering for our coffee collation after the service. I started with some good mini Pita bread discs. First I put a layer of good cream cheese --then a mixture of chives and capers, then a bit of good tomato and on top a slice of Scottish Lox (the deceased was Scottish). I also spread some Goat Cheese and Caviar on special fennel flavored Italian crackers. I placed a large tray of these among the ham, egg salad, and chicken salad sandwiches offered by the church "mothers". The tastes were sparkling --and my tray was cleaned out almost immediately. Why not? -- and it was not expensive to make since I got everything at Trader Joe's last night.
What does "food" mean?
I can remember being so high that I was looking down on Manhattan in a euphoria of sensual overload. We had come from hearing and seeing Johnny Winter and Jimi Hendrix face to face putting their lives in music right out front for anyone and everyone to judge the meaning and value of their concepts. We hit the club door about an hour after dropping orange barrel shaped pills called "Sunshine" by our group. Later, we would arrive in our naked soul's innocence at "Bobo's" in Chinatown - this familiar place enveloped us like a warm Asian hand, enfolding us and disclosing the secrets of thousands of years of taste and talent. It was home and it was paradise - now! It was the reality of good food - delighting our senses, filling our stomachs, and draining our brain-blood out of the neuron maze as stability gradually returned.
What could be better? Why not talk about it? Jim and his fellow Chowhounds must feel that "If we build it, they will come." They will.
