The Codfather - Fish 'n Chips

I just love this place. I know its a really corny name but for anyone looking for an authentic English "chippy" this is the place to go.
They used to be up in Fountain Hills. They've since moved and now have two locations one on Bell and 16th, the other is on 3361 W. Greenway. I've only been to the one on Bell (where the owners are) and the food is great. Being a Brit its not so easy to find a taste of home around these parts - other than the Pasty place in Tempe (which is also great!).
You can either take out or eat there - we always eat there. There are two types of fish to choose from, cod or haddock, both are delicious. They also have a few other British things to choose from but I'm more than happy with the fish and chips. The batter on the fish is nice and crispy and the fish on the inside is perfectly cooked. The chips are made from fresh (not frozen) potatoes and with the right amount of salt and vinegar are just lovely.
They have the British Heinz beans as a side as well as mushy peas. I find the peas a bit on the watery side.
We've now been going there once a week and its starting to get very crowded. Saturday nights are all the cod you can eat for $9.99 - just the cod, not chips. They also have a card that they stamp, buy 9 combos (Fish,Chips and a drink) and you get the 10th one free. I highly recommend trying it. Maybe it would be a good place for a chowhound get-together!
