My wife and I went to the Park Slope branch for the first time last night. I had the roasted half chicken and the rice and beans both of which were very good. She had the red snapper which was a little bland, as was the rice that accompanied her dish. The maduros were quite good although some of them were a little less sweet than I personally like them. We also had a chicken appetizer which was very tasty indeed and came with a very nice lime, red onion and tomato salsa.
I have seen complaints about the slow service on this and other boards. The service was a little on the slow side but not terrible and the waiter was nice enough. The ambience wasn't bad for a casual night out. Overall, I think Coco Rocco is a good option for a quick dinner for take out or at the restaurant but I would stick to the basics like the roast chicken which together with a couple of sides is a great deal and very tasty.
