Classic NJ Diner near Newark Airport, NJ

How to explain this.

My Uncle, a NY'er who relocated to San Francisco well over 30 years ago, is flying into Newark Intl' to visit various family and friends.

He LOVES classic NJ Diners. The classic NJ/NY kind that has a thick menu loaded with all types of foods. 100's of selections...from Italian, to burgers, to Greek, to steaks...EVERYTHING.

I'll be picking him up from Newark Intl' and then we'll be driving south.
I'm looking for anything close to Newark Intl', preferably just south of the airport. I'm looking for a classic NJ-Diner, NOT a dirty "greasy-spoon" place. Clean and nice, and of course the food should be Good.

Most of the good diners I know are in central and south Jersey. I'm looking for something like "The Colonial" on rt.18, or "The Tick-Tock" on rt.3. etc.

Help. Please.
