There's a place called Duncans on Rte. 7 just east of Troy that I must mention. I wasn't really hungry, but as I drove by, the time-worn look of the place and the parking lot full of cars beckoned me to turn around. I thought they had to being doing something right! This place is a classic, and looks like it has been around since the 40's or 50's. The breakfast was excellent. The bread, as well as a number of other items, are made on site. Good, honest food. I sat at the counter behind the grill/stove. The cook, an elderly women name Margaret, was amazing to watch. She move with such precision and ease, flipping eggs and pancakes, frying ham, stiring oatmeal, dipping the homemade bread in egg for french toast, and all the while occasionally turning over two huge skillets of hashbrowns, that I almost became dizzy. What a gal! What an athlete?! Who needs the Olympics when there's Margaret?
