Lunch at Clancy's this week--had a vidalia onion and creole tomato salad with bleu cheese dressing. I was suspicious of the tomatoes, but the kindly waitress brought out a slice for me to sample. While not perfect, it was still (by far) the best tomato I've eaten since last August. Mmm-mmm. I also had a fried softshell with a tomato/onion relish, accompanied by a few potato chunks and a handful of haricots verts, topped with a little sauteed cabbage. And lemon pie, of course...everything was excellent. Warm french bread, room temp butter, served in a block. Portion sizes were appropriate for lunch. I left thinking, "why don't I come here more often?" So I'm moving 'em up on my list of frequent-dining spots. I think Clancy's just pulled ahead of Brigtsen's (which has been a little off lately, IMHO).
