July is National Ice Cream Month.
This afternoon I stopped by Citizen Cake in San Francisco for a cool one, ice cream that is. Mostly sorbet in the case today and only three ice creams: chocolate, corn (yes, that's right), and hazelnut chocolate brownie.
I did give the corn a try and it tasted like a sweet version of buttered cream corn, sans the kernels. I found the hazelnut chocolate brownie more my speed. The very creamy hazelnut and chocolate base was studded with big chunks of chewy dense brownie. While too sweet for my taste, it was very satisfying with both freshness and rich flavors.
