Ciro's - Short Review

Been wanting to try Ciro's (705 N. Evergreen Ave., East LA, (323) 267-8627) ever since Ernie recommended it on this board back in March of 2003, and then someone's post a few weeks back reminded me to make the trek. Went today and loved it! This place is a small, neighborhood kind of joint with great homemade chips and salsa, and an awesome chunky avocado salsa. Ordered the chili colorado burrito, which came with creamy refried beans, rice and a bit of salad. The burrito had big chunks of falling-apart tender beef, stewed in a densely flavored red chili sauce. Really nice, deep, chocolaty chili/chorizo flavors, loosely wrapped in what tasted like a homemade flour tortilla. Not excessively large, but ample. The burrito combo was $5.50, and the service was very friendly (in a motherly sort of way). I will definately be back to explore their menu in greater detail. Thanks for yet another great recommendation hounds!
