Though I dislike the shtick of PBS's New Jewish Cooking show, a segment run yesterday had advice I'd never heard before. It is hard to blend cinnamon into liquids for things like glazes. But it will dissolve in alcohol, so mix it with vanilla extract or a spoonful of booze to form a paste before trying to blend it into other liquids.
