Heading to NOLA for the very first time this Friday! In my mind, I'm already there.
I'm meeting up with a group of friends that I've known for about six years on a cigar bulletin board, and this will be the first time most of us have met in person. Because of the fact that there is a cigar bar connected, and it is in close proximity to the hotel, we've got reservations at Arnaud's for Saturday night. No big deal if it is just mediocre, the decision was to go with convenience for a group of 18.
Anyway, I'm just curious about the cigar friendliness of restaurants and bars in the Quarter, and if anyone has any recommendations. Nothing necessarily high end, just a place where you can sit at a table and don't have to be relegated to the bar only. I'm a pretty considerate aficionado, so I generally don't even light up in bars unless I know it won't be a hassle. I've called a couple of bars like Cooter Brown's (not in the Quarter, but a friend recommended it) and asked if they allow cigar smoking, but there's a big difference between "yeah, we allow it", and "yeah, we don't mind ten guys puffing away"!
Any help would be appreciated. Will definitely post about my food adventures upon my return.
