The lunch buffet is no more. It is replaced with a Table d'Hote menu, which changes every few days.
The current one.You are not going to believe it .
All you can eat soup and salad
Parsnip and sweet potato soup
Beet and goat cheese salad
Main, choice of
Duck breast with orange sauce
Lobster risotto (see prior Judith Gorman post)
Onglet (hanger steak) with sauteed onions
comes with vegetables and rice or potatoes
This menu costs $12. Yes $12. That's four courses. And you will think that you are at a good place in Paris.
The chef is defying customers to come despite the unfashionable location. Incidentally, the location as a neighbourhood is actually quite OK and there is ample and cheap Green P parking across the street.
Dinner is now $30 for four courses.
Everything that I have had has been delicious, with the exception of one only OK lunch buffet and a salmon that was cooked in a style that I didn't like. And yes, I have been here lots- daily. It's that good and the cooking style makes daily visits easy. The Chef uses very little butter and currently no dish has cream.
The plates are generous.
Last week's Table d'Hote was only unreasonably good and cheap. This week's is spectacular.
Leek and potato soup
Braised beef cheeks
Strawberries with pepper
Yep, $12 and delicious.
