I'll be coming to the city next month with a friend for a girl's weekend of shopping, walking, talking and eating. This will be my first time in NYC and the plethora of options is overwhelming!
We currently have reservations at Eleven Madison Park and Le Bernardin and now I'm trying to land on a place for dinner for the Friday night. Would love to find a place where we can talk, enjoy the food and some wine and not feel rushed to get through dinner (but is this asking too much for a Friday night?). Sticking to an Italian theme, I've narrowed it down to Scarpetta, Maialino and Osteria Morini as well as Locanda Verde although I would have to take an early reservation here. I've read the great things about the bread at Scarpetta, some dishes to try at Maialino as well as the noise level at LV, but still can't make up my mind.
Which place would you choose? And is there another Italian restaurant not on this list that might fit the bill? (have excluded Marea as it seems it is seafood centric and want to skip as already doing Le Bernardin)
Thanks very much in advance!
