Hi Chowhounds! I am a huge admirer of this site and its posters, and now I must call upon you in the hour of my need.
Here's my dilemma: my brother's performing a solo piano recital at Carnegie Hall this Saturday and our family's coming from all over the place (we're Taiwanese-American) and I've been asked to organize a banquet (in walking distance out of respect for our elders) for afterwards. The problem is when we tried to book a banquet for 16 people at Tang Pavilion, they turned us down because they had a huge banquet for 60 planned for that evening.
I am aware of three fairly large, decent Chinese restaurants in walking distance of Carnegie Hall: Tang Pavilion, Joe's Shanghai, and Grand Sichuan International. Tang is booked, Joe's (from what I've heard) is Americanized and not great, which leaves Grand Sichuan which I hear is pretty good. Am I missing anything?
Thanks in advance.
