yesterday i arrived very early for a meal in chinatown and spent the time wandering around gathering menus and such. A couple of things caught my eye and i wanted to find out if anyone could enlighten me.
At jumbo seafood, down toward the south end of chinatown, they had two menus posted. One fairly ordinary one (heavy on seafood) and then titled as midnight chef's special - served from 10 pm to 2am. all the interesting stuff was on this menu - pork blood with chives, sauteed snails etc. Anyone been for the midnight chef?
At Kim Yen, a vietnamese place sandwiched between Moon Place and House of Taste they were advertiseing their "double boiled soups". Listed among their soups were: lamb soup and white eel soup. Does anyone know what double-boiled soup is? or had either of the lamb or white eel?
