Everything Chi Chi's Wishes it Was, but Isn't - La Pachanga

We ate at La Pachanga last night in RWC. It's a sit- down Mexican restaurant on Middlefield. At first we couldn't get in the door because an eight piece mariachi band was blocking the door. The band included a singer (she was really good!), three violins, three trumpets and more. Apparently they play there during weekend nights. Normally I think these are cheesy, but they were so good and it was really entertaining.

There are few gringos - always a good sign - and the food was very good. They brought three different salas with the chips. We each ordered enchiladas - one with chile verde and one with mole. Most entrees come in medium size and a large. The medium is huge and comes with rice, refried beans (topped with Mexican cheese) and a very nice salad that had iceberg, marinated carrots and radishes, onion and avocado. Really, really tasty.

Overall, a great experience. I recommend it highly! Oh, and the prices are good, too.
